Enable touch on HP 2740p with Windows 8.1
After upgrading my HP 2740p from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I lost touch. The Wacom pen input still worked. I re-installed PenTablet_533-3.exe and Wacom Digitizer Driver 3.0.7.24 – sp52863.exe (in that order) but touch wasn’t restored.
It wasn’t until I opened Window’s Control Panel, searched for Touch, launch the Touch Settings app, and run through the 16-point calibration was touch restored.
Touch Settings (WTouchCPL.exe) on my system is installed to C:\Program Files\WTouch

Slightly off topic, but how (what) did you do in terms of a graphics driver for Win 8.x on your 2740p?
It’s currently using the following driver package:
Intel(R) HD Graphics
Driver date: 11/26/2012
Driver version: 8.15.10.2900
Digital signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
(e.g. C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\igdkmd64.sys, version 8.15.10.2900)
The latest version on HP’s site for this model appears to be v8.15.10.2559* so it seems the version I’m running came from Windows Update. Searching the Windows driver catalog** supports this***.

Perfection! Thank you for popping this information up there. I’m trying like the devil to get Win 10 Tech Preview running nicely on the system.
Also, if you haven’t already, pop on over to Ebay and search for “intel 320 Series 160GB 1.8″ 3GB/s SSD Solid State Drive (SSDSA1NW160G3)”
Pretty sure that it’s a compatible drive, and $60 for a decent SSD for this makes it a nice little beast.
I have to verify compatibility.
Ryan,
Wanted to drop you a quick line. Threw a 1.8″ Samsung 120gb SSD in the 2740p (pulled from a Lenovo). Huge improvement.
Also, Windows 10 Tech Preview, installs seamlessly on it and runs great. You might want to give it a try. Heck, since the 2740p shipped with Windows 7 Pro, you should also receive a free upgrade to Windows 10 when it launches per their recent announcements.
I’m really impressed at how well it handles Win10. Quick install too.
